Dr. Peter Farrell
Dr. Farrell acts as the Medical Director (problem solver) for the hospital. In that capacity, he is available to assist and consult with all the doctors on their cases at BHVH and is responsible for daily doctor's rounds. He enjoys all aspects of being a veterinarian and is able to provide the advanced diagnostic testing such as echocardiograms and abdominal ultrasound, rigid and flexible endoscopy, as well as advanced surgical procedures and cancer treatments. Continuing education keeps him up to date and excited about his daily work.
Even after 34 years of practice, medicine and surgery still make him a happy guy, and he plans to continue in practice for years to come. He loves his four kids who are grown now, and hopes they want to come back and live in Burnt Hills. Having 4 grandchildren is deeply gratifying and maybe one of them will be a veterinarian! MaryJo is busy with many volunteer activities as well as one cat and two dogs. Big community events they both have been active in for many years are the BHBL Community Follies in April and the Lord's Acre Fair in September. Dr. Farrell is very proud of the many aspiring young people who as high school, college and veterinary students, have been mentored at the BHVH, and especially proud of how many have gone on to become licensed veterinary technicians and veterinarians.
Working together with his veterinary classmate and partner, Dr. Mike Rach, the Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital has grown into a regional hospital of excellence, accredited to the highest level by the American Animal Hospital Association.
The BHVH motto is "The Best of Care for the Best of Friends", and we truly mean it.
