Dr. Foley hails from the mountains of West Virginia, where she grew up helping care for the family’s dogs, cats, and various farm animals. It was from her childhood visits with the family pets to the local veterinarian that she decided she wanted to help people care for their best friends. Through her experience in high school working with a veterinarian who cared for farm animals as well as family companions, she also developed an interest in helping farmers care for their animals.
In pursuit of these goals, Dr. Foley attended Cornell University where she received a BS in Animal Science and then Mississippi State University where she obtained her DVM. During her time at Cornell, she fell in love with upstate NY and decided to move back to NY after graduating veterinary school. For several years after graduation, Dr. Foley worked with a mobile veterinary practice caring for farm animals and occasionally had the opportunity to make house calls for cats or dogs. She is happy to have joined BHVH and return to her roots of focusing on canine and feline medicine. She has a special interest in behavior and helping pets and their people coexist in harmony. She also hopes to help grow a house call service with BHVH so pets can receive routine veterinary care in the comfort of their own homes.
In her free time, you can find Dr. Foley training her dogs fun tricks, gardening, hiking local trails, or baking desserts.
