We're pleased to offer the following services at Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital:
We strive to offer appointments that accommodate current family needs, such as evening Saturday and Sunday hours. You may request a specific doctor or may take the next available appointment with any of our excellent veterinarians. Please inform the receptionist with specific requests for which doctor, and time of day, as well as any other ways we can help, such as assistance from the car into the hospital.
We are also able to schedule appointments with our technicians for injections, blood draws, pedicures
anal sac expression, etc.
We will also call to remind you of your appointment at least one day in advance.
We ask that you provide us with the courtesy of cancelling your appointment, if you are unable to attend. This will allow us to meet the needs of another patient. A Non-negotiable fee of $40 will be charged to anyone who does not show up for a scheduled appointment or does not cancel the appointment at least 2 hours prior to scheduled time.
Urgent Illness or Injury (during regular office hours)
If your pet becomes ill or injured in such a way that a regular appointment will not suffice, please call to advise us that your pet requires emergency care (518)399-5213 and then come to the hospital. Your pet will be examined immediately by a technician to assess urgency and a doctor and staff member will leave what they are currently doing to assist in stabilizing and diagnosing the problem.
Please understand that when your pet requires urgent attention this means other patients that have appointments will have to wait. We ask that everyone have patience and know that their pet's needs will be address as promptly and thoroughly as humanly possible.
Emergency Care (When the hospital is closed)
One of our doctors is available by phone to help provide advice for after hours emergencies on Monday - Friday nights, and from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm on Sundays. If the doctor recognizes that your pet requires surgery or constant monitoring, they will recommend one of the fully staffed emergency hospitals in the region:
Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital (518)785-1094
Upstate Veterinary Specialties (518)783-3198
Northway Animal Emergency Clinic (518)761-2600
If the doctor feels that your pet's emergency can be appropriately handled by that doctor alone, they may recommend you bring your pet into the Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital. There is an emergency fee charged in addition to regular charges.

Our doctors take care of most small mammal species such as dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, etc. Please call to confirm if your pet's species is not listed.
