Animal Caretaker

We are in search of a person with energy self-motivation, high ethical standards, who is thoughtful, compassionate, thorough and has a good sense of humor.        

Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital is a family owned, AAHA certified, small animal practice. With 10 doctors and more than 60 support staff members, our practice provides care for more than 32,000 families and their best friends.

We provide advanced diagnostic and treatment options, including:

· Ultrasound

· Advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgery

· Physical Therapy and rehabilitation services

· Regenerative stem cell and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatments

· Acupuncture

· Chiropractic services

· Dental X-Rays, cleanings and extractions

· Oncology

  • Boarding services

Candidate Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Previous animal care skills preferred but not required
  • Lifting up to 40 pounds

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Overall cleanliness of the hospital
  • Walking dogs
  • Feeding cats and dogs
  • Cleaning dog and cat cages and dog runs
  • Bathing animals
  • Laundry
  • Stocking and re-stocking of foods and hospital supplies
  • Sterilization of surgical instruments and use of autoclave
  • Cleaning hospital grounds
  • Provide excellent customer service skills

Training: Our Caretaker Mentor and Facility Supervisor will provide individualized training for this position.

Terms: Full Time/Part Time- Flexible schedule, day, evening and weekend availability

Salary: From $15.20 per hour
