Beverly Blinn-Knapp

Dr. Blinn-Knapp first joined the Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital staff in May 1996. She enjoys small animal medicine and has a special interest in surgery, endoscopy and behavior. She has also spent time working with humane organizations on spay/neuter initiatives, and also works with the New York State Humane Association on animal cruelty investigations and gives lectures at conferences that teach animal control workers and law enforcement officers how to investigate animal cruelty cases. She gained expertise in this area assisting the State Police in successfully prosecuting two large pit bull fighting cases in the state, as well as several smaller hoarding and abuse cases. Dr. Blinn-Knapp has been recognized by both the New York State Humane Association and the Humane Society of the United States for her animal cruelty work.Outside of work Dr. B-K has been the Secretary/Treasurer of the Capital District Veterinary Medical Society for more than ten years. She also spent many years competing in the equestrian sport of dressage. While not actively riding or competing at this time, she is still an active member of the Eastern New York Dressage and Combined Training Association and is involved in organizing several shows locally, including Dressage at Saratoga held every Memorial day weekend at the Saratoga Racecourse. 

    Dr. B-K is an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Malta. She lives in Milton with her husband Bruce, four dogs and two cats. She also enjoys gardening in her spare time.
